i need to do this. to make a log of my jogs. my "new" jogs.
one of my many 'new year resolutions' for the year, i shall keep to my weekend jogs religiously.
and i shall accomplish that through a self-reminder / motivator of blog-jog-logs... =P
pathetic, yes: but still, another ambitious attempt nontheless. =)
and this, is training ground:
the Red arrow's the TO route; and the blue arrow the RETURN route.
i'd never realized (dear jamie), that we'd actually covered like the whole of FRIM on foot! (well, at least we did of their tarred roads). coz now that i see from the map, they have off-road 'nature trails' in those dotted lines. i wonder how tough are the trails huh?? and i bet it'd be a different level of resistance training entirely. i mean, so far, the tarred roads definitely give my heart a pumping good workout.. (sometimes i feel like they'd burst??)
anyhow, here's Joglog #1:
after the recent NKF (national kidney foundation) organised health-check at the office, they'd concluded that my BMI (body mass index) is now at 24. well, although according to general standards which i'd found on the internet, a BMI of 24 is still within the 'okay' range, not unless you exceed BMI 25; still, on the NKF health report, anything more than 23 is considered PRE-OBESE. needless to say, being tagged with the word OBESE, regardless of 'pre' or whatsoever, is something that is not to be condone with. hence, the newfound Oomph in executing my Weekend Jogs resolution @ FRIM (forest research institute malaysia).
Jog #1 is always the hardest (especially when it requires waking up at 8am on a saturday morning... dreadful indeed). without bestie as comrade and motivator, i'd decided to skip the trek up the waterfall. however, after taking the normal route, i'd made extra leg-work by going through the detour near the Engkabang Trail signboard. well i thought i was taking the Engkabang Trail, but apparently, anything in dotted line would have to be some off-road track. anyhow, the whole thing took me about 1half hour ... i'd hav to admit, i walked most of the route. =P
the sunshine was great though... and the rays shining down the track half-filtered by the branches made a good environment for the jog too.
i would have to say, i felt sortof kindof proud of meself ",especially the crawling-out-of-bed-at-0800 part...
Joglog #2:
they say starting Something is always easi-er, than keeping up with that Something.
so now the hard part. Jog #1 was hard enuff, Jog #2 wasnt any easier.
so i admit it. i caved in. i didnt wake up for sunday until it was 12pm =S
spent the whole day lazying with the sunday papers at home.. until when i found that today's papers featured a lot of health-related articles, including one on keeping to your resolutions. hmm, perhaps, the health section had always been there on the sunday papers, i guess it mustvebeen just ME, who didnt really cared to bother.
so at precisely 1700 hours, i decided to ditch the papers and go for the sweats instead.
the sky was sort of rumbling out a warning. but dad assured that it wouldnt rain a drop. especially when the whole afternoon had been dripping hot!
so here goes, Jog#2:
yeah, this one is a bit grainy.. well, you cant expect much when the hands are a tad shaky. i didnt stop to take this one. not when i was rushing out to beat the rain.
i do feel that the sky can be deceiving. i mean, one minute it was all sunny, and the next, it was all gloomy especially with the canopy of leaves. i decided not to push my luck too far, so i settled with turning back at just the clubhouse/ cafeteria.
eventually though, it did Pour... while i was having my bath at Home of course... =)
i'll be looking forward to Joglog #3 and #4..
until next weekend then...
another itch scratched...
