meeting bore..

... today's meeting at the office (yes, saturday.. meeting.. 8am to 4pm..), was really not the thing to shout about. what i hav in mind here, is a record to astound myself for the months to come, some simple entertainment i managed to cook up when placed in a room together with a bunch of horridly overgrown smurfs...

the act of balancing a red, 2B pencil on the ears of a cup (not easy, as the edges were smooth & rounded)
hehehh...... this is bad... i'd better not show the masterpieces i completed by 12pm.

gosh... where did my week go?

seemed just like yesterday that sis and i were sitting, catchin' our breath in front of the royal selangor club at dataran merdeka... we thought we'd grab a cup of cool, refreshing Milo each until that is, when we saw the long queue snaking thru the padang... without much further ado, we drove straight to McDonald's at mont kiara... to hav their breakfast meals, and of coz, some very cool & refreshing, large cups of Milo... :) of coz, it being an outing of just me and sis.. choosing an eatery with an outdoor sitting area is highly not-optional... :P

spending sunday mornings browsing at some not overly-crowded bazaar seems not too bad an idea too... that morning itself, when barely half of the vendors there hav managed to put up their stalls, we managed to browse and grabbed some stuf at a steal... sis got a black top while i got 2 simple dressy-tops, all for 25bucks each. :) and guess waht? i found some cheap 2nd-hand books for sale too~! took home one at rm8:- 'extremely loud & incredibly close' by a jonathan safran foer... with a title like that, who can blame me for picking it up?

the woek-week then very quickly slurred into a fast week. in fact, two of the after-woek nites was so draining (mustav' been) that it left me pigging off right after dinner... gosh! no wonder the week's been quick.... today was the 1st day of yet another round of quarterly management meeting at the office. and tomorrow... tomorrow i will need to be at office at 7:30am ... 'an early start' they said, for a day of planned agenda. another round of motivational, team-building shitz from some hot-shot speakers from outside (read: bloodsuckers + bunch of fools)...

anyhow, i dont darn care. although, sadly, the meeting will continue right into saturday... still, fri-nite's our few hours of catchin' up with the gang... and it's combust's birthday too~! Hear Ye! Hear Ye! this calls for some cake (a slice), some coffee (famous, bearing some constellation object), and fags!!! (at least one on the slice of cake, i heard...)

ahahahh!! i cant wait.....

yeah, the mornings are always pretty great.. sleep-ins, long shots at the papers, coffee... hmm...
but the nights.. dreadful, dreadful 'anticipations' of another mind-numbing week ahead..

aiyaiyai... what can i say? but to look forward to perhaps another relaxing weekend soon?? :S

was with sis at the 'Olympic Day' run at dataran merdeka this morning.. yeap, even after wakin' up almost an hour late, we still managed to reach the padang grounds at 7am sharp... yes, it was sharp indeed, the huge clock tower told us so...



it didn't matter to us that the winds were howling, the sky was kind of magenta, when we left the haus.... even after reachin' there, people-mountain-people-sea as usual, the sky somehow cleared a lil', and looked something like this....

yeah, i figured it'd be another, pretty long time again before we'd both stand there again, in front of that Sultan Abdul Samad building, and at that hour too... so, i couldnt resist but take a few shots of the sky there n then... :)

like it or not, our new (100 days old) PM has got his own 'personal website' where he communicates with the rakyat... i finally found time (and enuf curiosity) to click into it today...

i started with 1malaysiadotcom, which turned out to be some web-hosting company... pretty far-sighted this guy... our dear PM's web is in fact, with dotmy. of course, we are in MY after all....

again, whether you like it or not, our PM too, is a very marketing savvy PM. i cant help but feel the whole website is like a promotional site of some fmcg brand. forgive me for being - for what i label myself - observant... :)

anyhow, the point for this post is... i clicked to participate in a poll currently displayed at the site. it is, surprise! surprise! about the recent maid hoo-haa in mehsia...

i chosed 'improved wage & benefits structure'.... which left me appalled when i saw the results to-date. i can understand we hav our varying degrees of preferences and thinkings. but 'improved wage & benefits structure' only got a demeaning percentage of 7.5%?????????......

which makes me think.. we never learn. really... "legislation against abuse & harrassment"? who are we kidding??? dont we already have that by now? and who in their right mind wouldnt know of the consequences of abusing someone? kids, adults, or maids? we have death penalty for drug offenders and the rotan for rapists too... so what? all the abuses (i feel), stemmed from disrespect and belittling of the maids, by the employers (some sick percentage of larh~). they think (perhaps) they are nothing but a piece of meat, being paid to scrub and dust... when someone needs to pay only so little for something in return, you'd automatically not appreciate that something, and treat it like some worthless object. i can understand that...

like how you'd talk to some high-flying professionals in the lift, and how you'd talk to the cleaning worker (often foreign) by the corridor... i tink the comparison is obvious...

oh well,... i initially thought i'd add the blog to my new list of 'blogs i-go-2 kepoh'... but at the end of it, i thought, nahh~!.... i'd save it for something more worthreadwhile...

nope, the title does not reflect on this post contents at all... or does it?
time flies, and we're in the 2nd half of year 2009 already, folks! tsk tsk tsk... again, TIME FLIES!!!

was youtubing a bit earlier on, and as per-as per, you'd navigate around, linking here to there, and then there and then there... and voila~! look what i found.... (okay, okay, i was sort of searchin' for barry white larh~ ... :S)



Ally McBeal ...
an American television series which ran on the FOX network from 1997 to 2002..
spanning a total of 5 seasons, it starred Calista Flockhart as the title character... and with other more noticeable casts like Lucy Liu, Portia de Rossi, and Robert Downey Jr. (towards the end) .. the rest of the casts, uhm~ they were funny... there, credits given.


i cant help but think that.. like how songs tend to reflect back to the times and places where we were at, when they were all the rage then,... tv series are like that too... if u get what i'm trying to say... =)

like how when i come across, say, the cranberries, i'd automatically think back to my secondary school days... so when i came across this McBeal clip in youtube, i wasnt quite sure where was i then... either the series did not make that lasting an appeal on my mind, or, the memories' fading.... so i spontaneously tried to figure out, where was i .. and what was i doin' the time when ally and gang were regulars on ntv7...
'97 to '02.... i guess it'd be suffice to conclude that... those few years were, and still are, a blur to me right now.... =S

nevertheless, feelin' in-the-mood after watching the clip, i tried looking up the series for downloads at tom365.... to nil results of coz..... kinda frustrating... how could they have titles like this in their 32 pages of listing, and not have a single season of Ally McBeal?

oh well... i guess that is it then...
the next time i see a good series come along, i'd be sure to watch 'em religiously, or at the very least, bookmark them on the net first...
