rainy days ahead~

these days the weather is rather predictable.. not that im complaining
just that before you know it, once you look out the window and the rain is already pouring..
just that you thought you've heard some thunderstorms and thought that it's goin to rain soon, just to find out that it's already raining cats and dogs outside..
just that you know that somehow you need to get to the car in time at 6pm sharp in order to beat the (almost always) mad rain..
just that the weather toolbar almost always shows this...

yes, welcome to our november.. and maybe even december...
makes good weather for bedtime tho'... =)

cords to ears~

most songs somehow sound somewhat better and more intoxicating when blasted directly to yer eardrums with the cords stuck to it..
all the more when performed in the sultry voice of ms joanna wang . . .

some folks like to get away, take a holiday from the neighborhood. hop a flight to miami beach or to hollywood. but i’m taking a greyhound on the hudson river line - i’m in a new york state of mind. i'd seen all the movie stars in their fancy cars and their limousines, been high in the rockies under the evergreens, but i know what i’m needing and i don’t want to waste more time... i’m in a new york state of mind. it was so easy living day by day.. out of touch with the rhythm and blues, but now I need a little give and take, the new york times, the daily news... it comes down to reality - and it’s fine with me ’cause i’ve let it slide, don’t care if it’s chinatown or riverside, i don’t have any reasons, i’ve left them all behind ... i’m in a new york state of mind

road trip~

like seriously, did i really spent close to an hour in the bathroom? thawing out myself while waiting for one of them to start fidgeting, showin' signs of an early breakfast perhaps?...
.
the air conditioning was unforgiving unexpectedly, the sheets were just a tad too tiny. and the door.. as blocked as my nose was. the bathroom, was my only respite. not like i didnt try holing up myself on the bed, it just couldnt work, and dozing back to slumber wasnt an option neither. so the warm rays of light through the bathroom window is all i can remember now of our lovely boutique hotel back on Jonker Street.. :)

but enuff about the bathroom. it was cosy nontheless, the hotel.. for one night.
and the location exceptional.
the cafe next door was pretty quaint too. okay, it would've scored better if the people running it were less frenetic.
other than that, it was perfect in fact... for our little excursion to a highly packed holiday town on a busy national holiday weekend.

it was a nice feeling, fuzzy even, watchin' our local folks peddling along this redbricked street.. made me wonder how long have they been there along the red giants?

the fountain ~ which had me practically pushin'em both in front of the camera~!

the river. some major cleanups mustav taken place. i remember peeking over the bridge near Chung Wah's then and imagined spotting maybe a croc amidst its floating logs...

and climb the hill we did. with my 10x zoom olympus, i managed to capture a piece of the malaccan straits..

fancy not recalling this at all during our school trips then.. ??

guess it must have been a long, long time ago then...
you know that must be the case when you realize you cant even figure out which side the main fort entrance was at... it all just gets very unfamiliar when you decide to go about the place topsy turvy..~

well, it was a blessing in disguise indeed... with the sun burning down our backs, we saw the inviting 'north entrance' of some mall right opposite the fort entrance =)
one which we dashed straight into after taking our group shot.
well, not a very romantic way of ending this quaint post, but still, great pictures aside, the cooling A/C of Conventional Mall wins hands down against the Great Ruins a n y t i m e.
