merdeka`

i hav no idea where i was and what i did on merdeka day the previous year...

i culd hav just stayed home, i culd hav gone out for some revelry.. the blog at friendster has been deleted as i hav opted to cancel my account.. i checked my photo albums but nope, there's none dated 31aug'08. So, yeah, i guess there's no way of finding out now.. :)

this merdeka day however, coincided with a long weekend. Great~! it doesnt even feel monday now..

was at malacca with the gang on saturday and sunday... the banglo we took at A Famosa resort was a steal at RM400 for one night. with four fully ACed rooms, super large beds, and very clean everything, we all nodded approvingly as we arrived and nodded even more as we left on sunday..

each lot comes with its own pool (chest-deep... we found out later)

airy spaces with lots of window panels... with kitchen and very clean too~

the pool came in handy when the beer games kicked in~ go figure!

as the night got younger, and the beer ran out, alex and christine drove out for more...

beer sessions aside, this trip to malacca, we did somewhat covered the town area as well... the gang's quite a shy lot, so photos are far & few.... :)

instead of the usual mustavs chicken rice balls, we opted for this.. Nyonya cuisine... which was also, packed to the brim... Ole Sayang~

we tried to hav satay celup at Capitol for supper... but the queue was just too mindboggling.. and it seemed to grow longer as the night did... anyhow, compensation came in the form of some thirst-quenching ice-kacang along Jonker street...

the mustgo Jonker Walk... yeah, if you cant beat 'em, join 'em ya?

so we braved the crowd and finally, this is the first time i actually walked the whole length of the street, to reach a nice spectacle... some group of ladies were having this open line-dancing activities of some sort .. haha~ yes, i guess malaccans are truly an active lot...

reachin' kl in less than an hour after parting ways with the gang in seremban, dicing session kicked in at hartamas with my usual gang... :)

to which i must say, hartamas is now a far cry compared to like some few years ago..

as we all recalled, available parking spots were a privilege then, and you'd hav to jam your way across its narrow one-laners...

but last night... hmm... we culd practically choose our parking spots, and sadly too, many of the outlets werent even opened.

Black Hole... that's where we were last night... it seemed to be the only outlet decent enuff to park our a$$es... :)

but then, the highlight of the nite.... taa-dah: the sup kambing at PELITA... hahhahah... it was indeed marvellous~!!.. its been ages since ive had sup kambing this good... :)

and i shall find my way to be back for more...

maybe that's why when we reached the block at Segambut by our men-in-blue, when asked "dari mana cik?", our dear fren replied.. "pelita". im sure they would smile approvingly and let us through.... hahah!!

the illusion of grandeur`~

it's another wrapup for the woek-week... and as im sayin' that, the weekend comes agushing in~! well, albeit a bit slow, as in more to like trickling in actually... well, well, what can i say, the Frens are a tad preoccupied with Dear LiFe! to sit for some kohii tonite, so i guess the night will be spent lazing around the haus... and packin' for my 1nite trip to malacca tomorrow... Yes~! 'Celebrating' the merdeka weekend in malacca with the ex-gang from office... :)

i think, it'll be somewhat fun, not entirely relaxing (in anticipation of the merdeka crowd flocking to malacca too~).. but i think it'll be mindboggling, as it always has been for our previous trips to locale weekend haunts (Cameron.. been there, Ipoh.. done that)... :)
either way, the beer crates are sure to liven things up a lil' come night time... now is that good or bad again???


anyhow, today, i must blog.
of my dear office.
well, it's the 28th of aug today, and, it's the last day that we are entitled to park inside the office building's compound... the demolition works will be starting next week for the 2 blocks behind ours... and that will probably take like at least 12 months before we will be allowed back in to the grand spanking new 5 stories annexe.... well, who knows what'll happen in a year's time hur~?... Uhm, but then again, speaking of which, i have indeed been here in this building for most of the 4 years of my working life now...
that feeling of dread just crept up from inside the gut nonchalantly this morning while i was standing at the first floor of the old office....

.. me and yatie were asked to do a final round of check on the junks still there before they like, finally seal off the building.. gulp. i never imagined that kind of dread while making my way from block A to block C, shielding my eyes from the glaring sun. ive been making that same path everyday from my parking spot behind block C to block A, but today, the view just seems so different. it's a view i'll never get again. so what if it's just a stupid old building...

i made my way up the stairs to the first floor, where my old office used to be. as i was going up the narrow stairs (everything is bigger and grander now in Block A)... i was tiba-tiba flooded with madonna's this used to be my playground... shit. hahha~!

as usual, i culdnt help it, and took a shot at it. this is where our cubicles used to be for the 'sales department'. i tried not to, but i culdnt help feel a tinge of nostalgia too~

25th aug 2005, the first day i stepped into this office as i reported my first day at work. never intended to stay for long, and now it's like exactly four years later. it feels kind of weird for me to be standing there at the same spot, 4 years later, with so much difference and many of the then sales team members already not with the company. yeah.. never intended to stay for long, but then again, maybe that's what prompted me to stay for so long... ?? puzzling? yeah i think so too~~~

this is crazy.. am getting nuts over this game.. Cake Mania~!
it started out pweety easy-peasy... i managed to sail through the 'first year' of business plus 'acquired' lots of new baking equipments and even some upgrades from the default oven to the "Bakemaster 3000"... fuhh~!!

after that, and some other fancy upgrades later, which included some extra services of adding candles and flowers to the cake decor for the extra bucks, 'second-year' of business was extended to a cabana setting by the beach side... fuhh~! again..

the cake shapes were getting more 'kua-jeong' .. xmas trees and ghoulish-pumpkin shapes were added to celebrate the many 'seasons' throughout the 'year'... hehehhe... not to mention a growing variety of 'customers' .. from brides to draculas.. yes!

but here, at the beach cabana, i am s.t.u.c.k. .... to be precise, at October... to imagine that there are two more 'locations' to achieve ...

this, and then this...

i am beginning to lose precious sleep!!! the psp has to be plugged to the wall now cuz the battery cant cope with my enthusiasm! Gulpp... =.="

again, i know.. this is crazy.... but then again, waht the heck ya??!

i luv my weekends..
and i luv my sundays too..
regardless of whether i hav any activities on, which i shuld, seeing my resolution of doing something different each weekend has just recently got started, but, still.. sundays are best spent at home relaxing, unhurried... ahh, bliss~~~

ive got my laptop on.. the streamyx on... the world wide web on... information and the latest gossips at my fingertips... chats and teases at real-time... with the windows media player on shuffle, simply red is on now... the only other sound being the room fan spinning at speed 4, which is gud enuff since dad helped me cleaned it this week, and the room still cool from the air-conditioning which i just switched off at 11am........ ahahahhha..
too much details, but yes, simple things define my blissful sundays.... ^^

oh my.. waddayaknoe? it's been a straight 5-days workweek without any posts. life's been uneventful? well, yeah... somewaht i guess... apart from the usual after-work drinks and psp-ing at home.. life's been pretty much so-so...

life's uneventful i get, but life's been Uninspired? now, that's SAD!!

tonite, me and the gang went to catch UP at the cinema.. knowin' it's another production from the guys at pixar, we were darn sure it'd live UP to its expectations as well... true enuff, that 1 and a half hour or so was kinda tad too short~~~

checked into facebook earlier, and voila~! saw that many of my friends had already caught the animation... given that it had just opened here in KL on thur nite... pretty UP too my frens...

i guess, some chose to see it the funny-side-up, dig into the humor.. while some i guess, tried to reap some insight from the pretty-impressive-animation (excellent graphics, Checked!; cute & mushy factors, Checked!!; impressive message to audience, Checked!!!)

so i guess, im not gonna be left out on this too...
i think, above all of the above, i see it sez a lot about lettin' go and movin' on in LiFe as well...
to live each phase of LiFe as an adventure in it's own rights... Savour each moment, good and bad, treasure the memories... but drop the emo baggage and all, and move on to finer things in Life, when it's due time... :)

as per, as per,... i turn pig mode on friday nights... savouring the down time with plenty of snooze time... cuz i know the weekend lays splendidly ahead of me.

saturdays i try to fill in as much as i could well if not then just one will do... coffee or dinner seems to be the norm these weekends...

sundays become the exact reversal of fridays... i simply refuse to hit the sack.. and let the new week begin... (i know i cant stop time... even as im typin now, it's already monday...)

anyhow...

sundays are (supposedly) great for relaxin' in the haus, and maybe do some overdue cleaning.

in my case, ahem... the lappie's almost hittin' its 1 year anniversary, and the old desktop is still, well, on the desk top.

pretty lazy to hit the park with the indecisive weather, i decided to finally put the old desktop to rest. Cleaning + Packing + Mopping, i found, was in fact more exhausting than running 3 rounds at the kiara park... =.="

behold...

it culd be better, i know.. but im realli pleased with this already... :)
plus, the floor is dustless now...
and now the tricky part... keeping the floors dustless until the next time i decide to mop...

to which some of my frens replied... that i shud wait a few more hours or so and then go get some Dim Sum or Bak Kut Teh.... another suggested that i play Mafia Wars with him... hick!

had a good round of supper buffet at Jogoya earlier with the gang (they're currently having some buy-1-free-1 promo for the merdeka month)... and i must say, that 'really black coffee' mustavbeen reaallli, Strong. i seriously cannot go to bed now!!! this is crazy! it's like 5 something now... :S

good thing this dimsum fren came online. Just at the Right time!! :)
i posted him with a question that goes something like this "so tell me... where else do u go on the www when u hav absolutely nothing to do?"
all options considered... the chat itself was the best thing that happened tonight..

well, maybe the title is not that apt, but i do sort of feel so tonite.. a variety of mixed feelings.. all thanks to the telly... :)
we live in malaysia.. i live in KL to be exact...
ol' skool entertainment comes from the television no doubt... here, we have pay per view satellite network known as Astro... if you have the channels that start with 3xx installed, you'd get all the channels from HK, Taiwan & China... and if you have the channels that start with 7xx installed, you'd pretty much get all the CSIs, Samantha Browns, Oprahs, Biggest Losers, Ryan Seacrest, Channel [V], and of coz, MTV.
our counterparts in Johor (the southern tip of MY) enjoys different coverage entirely. i've came to know that malaysians there dont subsribe so much to astro. they tell me they cant even finish all the tv channels from our neighbour down south.
like, waht? no astro? i mean, you dont watch astro? like, this sortof constitutes a different generation entirely! but then again, i wouldnt know waht channels they have there anyways.. all i could think of was their local dramas like Little Nyonya .. :S (do enlighten me if im wrong!)

so, anyhow... back to my astro rendezvous tonite... it started at about 11pm... yep, the tv's all mine tonite.
first channel on my finger tips is always, celestial movies at 322.
great! they were having escape from huang shi again..! yes, ive watched it before some months ago, and i was as fascinated as i was that some-months-ago...
doesnt matter that it also starred our very own datuk michelle yeoh and famous HK actor chow yun-fat... the star of this one was a Mr. George Hogg (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers) and the 60 or so kids... for another production that was based on true events, well, this one really tugged at my sleeves...

so well, as i was sayin'.... this post is all about mixed feelings. didnt mean to sound morbid, but this George Hogg guy ends up dead at the end of the show. he's the good guy. and suddenly it dawns upon me again the metaphor of 'good guys always die first'. why? want another example? hmm... the old white-beard headmaster guy from potter's dead right? you'd get my point...

and just as i was nursing my sniffles after watching hogg's grave and the credits roll, i got texted on the mobile that the Killers were on at MTV channel. darn... about 15 minutes left until their one hour slot on MTV world stage ends... :S

so now u get me when i say mixed feelings? was sortof like transported from ancient huang shi and shandan to modern day sydney... in just a flick of the remote! hahahar....

as for astro, yeah.. im pretty much satisfied with what they hav to offer to date.. too much choices cripple us rite? Noh... ^^

pretty confident taht they'd have a listing of the killers' repeat, i logged into their website.. and found to my horror of horrors that.... tonite's 1hour slot IS the repeat.. in fact it was the last repeat of all 3 slots........................ =.="

the magic` of Live!

performances, that is....
i listen to fly fm in the car while i jam my way, to and fro PJ daily... and the coming (this sat) mtv world stage is all the rage right now.
the deejays had the right mind too, to play a few live snippets from the previous mtv world stage held somewhere... (sydney if i'm not wrong).. and they had people like the kaizer chiefs, john legend, duffy, and the killers. john legend's live rendition of green light was breathtaking... luv him even more now.. :)
but the killers' spaceman was waht made me crank my speaker volume all the way Up! to 16 (that's real loud inside my kenari, ya..)

there's nothing like some Live! music to make you sit up and drum along ... while stuck in some horrid jam! they kinda had me at hello?, and after some googling at home... i found them!



well, this was no mtv world stage sydney (obviously they'd be copyrighted at mtv's site). BUT, this is Live! nevertheless,... and i just want to bring it across today that, yeah.. sometimes Live! music does sound somewhat better!... they somehow, give you the wish i was there feel... ^^

20th july.. the night i got my first anti-chicken pox jab at mediviron, seapark.. and then after that, i joined the gang from office for our 'tabung' cum Yvonne's farewell dinner at somewhere old subang... Choong Fung if i didnt get the spelling wrong...

very nice seafood indeed... and yes, yvonne's leaving the group for better prospects ahead.. which we are all sure of.. :)

23rd July... no special day in particular, but dad has a knack of bringing out his karaoke cd sets on days where, nothing particular happens.. ^^

1st Aug... Ling's (and Jing's) birthday dinner bash at Deutsches Gasthaus, ttdi...

with my K610i, this was all i could manage of her and the flaming sumthin'. turned out Jing wouldnt allow of it, but too late. order's been taken, the waiter was already there with all the necessary props and apparatus... and so, 2 more fellas were roped in to share it with ling.. darn. those lil' sips wont do us justice!!

and finally, these were in my phone's album.. the company took part (as per annual practice) in the kaizer-held IPMEX 2009 at pwtc, kl. from 6th-9th aug. (thats thursday to sunday, and i was there, liked-it-or-not, for all 4 days... ) but i hav to say, that this year's floor layout and design has much improved compared to our previous outings. gone were the days where we lugged out all our machines for sale. this year, we specialized on on-demand, full-color, digital printing... and yes, the colorful carpet and props sez it all....

so i guess, should there be a need, anytime soon for me to get a new sony ericsson, the choice would definitely be a camera-spec one over a walkman-spec. life's great~!

hmmph...

sigh.... kinda sad that this post had to start with a pathetic sigh...
whenever it's sunday...whenever when monday comes creeping in...
funny, funny thoughts re-surface in the mind as well...
yeah, it is increasingly becoming a weekly routine... that is, to dread the coming woek-week. although, time and again, i tell my office mates that "it's friday again!" when it's friday 5pm.. yet, as fast as the weekend comes approaching, the dreadful mondays come equally fast, if not, furious.

as it's still, pretty early tnite, ive decided to drop by air asia's website.. just for a peek.
unlike some of my frens where they already have the AA website bookmarked under their favorites, i still had to key in their url on the address bar...
and i'd hav to say, ive not dropped by this site for some time now... for reasons being, simply:
1) we are not supposed to book flight tickets anymore for the bosses, the 'selected' secretaries will have their full honor in doing that. fine by me.
2) when you know your next approved-leave will only be available in april 2010, i guess it'd be kinda silly (not to mention heart-wrenching) to keep checkin in on the promos and gawk at their crazy rates...

yes, as much as i hate to bring this up, the silliness and all, my office is notoriously known for its 'rules & regulations' when applying for leave. well, those who need to know already know, so it's no point bringing up the whole silliness here again... as if my mood for the pre-monday nite is not blue enuff....


oh well... waht can i say? taipei, bali, hongkong... yes, they're still on the line... just a matter of time... God knows when though...
