-W-

Well~
hectic woek aside, life still goes on for all of us no?~
and well, for me... altho reachin' home late from the office at only 10+ in the pm (plus with the annual agm scheduled for tomorow morning to boot..),
life on a Wednesday night goes on... with my weekly dose of the extraordinaries...
:)

but hey, wait a minute~! what happens if even those weekly xtraordinaries dont turn out the way you'd wish them to?
..am referrin to my recent drama-feed... My Queen~
like wat the H? she's pickin' leslie over lucas? out of Logic and Norm?
i mean, that's what Real People like us are supposed to do~ NOT beautiful people like 'em in the dramas~! and taiwanese drama to boot!!

what happened to the 'extraordinariness?'
is it so darn difficult to even just satisfy this cravin' of mine?..
just to see the un-ordinary happen over the small screen?
so what?! their age difference is 8yrs apart?
like.. Come ON! this is (again) taiwanese drama we're talkin about...!
they're supposed to go against the norm!!
they're supposed to break the mould and Inspire!!
they're supposed to be NOT real-life-like.... and they're supposed to Entertainn.... (verb, not noun..)

so i guess Sis must be right... the plots are getting too predictable..
too real to life... too non-fantasy... too no-fun!
hmmph... @#$%!

gosh... as silly as this may sound.., i still keep my fingers crossed that things will twist come the next episode.... (LOLsss)
;P

hot, HOT weekend...~!

what a weekend....
the temperatures were so crazy, (still is..), at times i dont feel like doin' anything but sit on the rattan chair and morph into freeze-mode...
but other than that, my weekend had been pretty okeii~...

saturday afternoon, after waking up pretti decently at 11:00am... -taking into consideration the hangover from previous night's long island- .. sat at home and waited for calls from alanis and sharon.... after much calls and sms-es, it was made to be that i'd drive to alanis' and zuk would join us later after she's finished running her errands (read: big business..)
so there i was, reaching alanis' home in somewhere Tropicana at almost 3:00pm...
baby Dixon had realli big, beautiful eyes... i tink he got that from alanis.. other than that, i couldnt realli make out whether he looks more like fung or alanis.. afterall, he is still onli less than 2mths old... hehehh~ CUTE!!!
while watching over him on the bed (he cant flip yet tho'), we three did some catchin' up on recent events... her birth at doctor sathuan's... zuk's latest business venture in Laos (uh-huh)... my office's exaggerative joint-leave rules... =} they were after all, all ex-galaxians...
later we stole alanis down for a cuppa... i was getting hungry after all.. stay longer and all the HupSeng square biscuits in her house wouldve been finished by me...

it being a hot, hot afternoon, we had no doubt ordering ice cold fizzy drinks... but wait a minute, we saw her gulping down the purple Justea from the straw non-stop like how a kid would... "can you take cold drinks oredi ka-?"... still sheepishly sucking from the straw, she shook her head. Gawd!! but how can v blame her with such weather rite??............

then all too soon, Sunday came.
was at the PJ Lion's Club annual Blind Leading the Blind Walk this morning... the flag-off was at Dewan Sivik, somewhere Jln Yong Shook Lin ...

hmmm, the poster stucked at our office walls wrote that registration starts at 7:30am... and i too told joyce to get ready by 7:00am.... but hey hey, i "think" the alarm didnt go off (or maybe it did..) and i only managed to leave home at 7:30am sharp... hehehhhe... no biggie tho', after picking joyce and roommie up, we reached around 8++am, and the lions were still in the middle of their speeech.... good~.

making our way around PJ to get to the venue, we came to realize just how unfamiliar we are with PJ... now officially a city by status, 'crowned' only as recent as somewhere 2006...

well, considering joyce has been renting in Seapark for so long now, and i've been working in Section 19 since late 2005 now... it really is kind of a shame, how i failed to realize that the 'new' Three Two Square which is basically just at the end of my office's stretch, houses some reali good watering holes... cuz' so far i've onli been to its Starbucks and Old Town :)
oh, it also sticks-in with a 'The Crest' tower of commercial offices. it's a shame also, how i didnt realize that there is this Quill 9 block of offices in the area... towering in the skyline with its realli cool, cursive blue signage... makes you wonder why it's the recession and yet there's still so many offices to let??

then there is the Jaya One lot of commercial cum lifestyle 'business park'... tsk tsk tsk, the names people give to new investments these days... this 'business park' too, boasts some gud pubs and eateries... or so i heard from my lounging frens... this too, is the place where the KLUE publications office is located :)
further down Jalan Semangat, we passed by Jaya 33 pulak... tends to get confusing to me sometimes, but this is the one where the True Fitness gym is at. other than that, i havent heard of any noteworthy outlet there.. but oh, Vintry @ Bukit Damansara has found new grounds here at Jaya 33... now, i know... but is Vintry Bukit D'sara still there?

then before we knew it, we went from Jln Semangat into Jln Barat.. from there on, we just followed enroute, passing by PJ Hilton on the left and PJ8 service suites on the right... very soon, the Dewan Sivik signboard loomed before us... and we were already looking for parking around the shops there... haha! so much for studying the tiny routes on Google Maps the night before.... =P

~that's Menara Axis in the background... i think..~

a full set of high school 'pancaragam' lead the walk - in full gear and regalia - "not heavy meh?" ~audrey...

well, i thought we'd have a shot at the 29inch... but oh well,... it was all good fun anyways... yeap, all 3km of the walk... =D

humbled~

you'll never know, what you'll get from the web..
that's pretti true tonite, as i go about my usual bouts of facebook and a few of the blogs i've bookmarked...
Ahem, tonite, i was in a way, enlightened to the case of a susan boyle... of the Britains Got Talent fame...
well, i hav to admit ive never followed this on the web at all, and somehow... one of the bloggers wrote about how she just had to go youtube her up, and then some of my frens had her up on facebook too.
the video took quite a while to load actualli, but i felt it will be worth the wait...
a petite lil' old lady she is by now... 47 years of age to be exact...
so you could expect what the general audience's perceptions were...
like uhm, how i'd frown and snicker too.. when i see and 'identified' some star-wannabes on American Idol... (ptfff...)
and you thought you knew better...
yet, we are never short of new amazement these days... truly an age where ANYTHING is possible.

yes, even a little lady from some 'village' (as how she described it herself..) managed to bring tears to the eyes of the judges and so many others in the audience...
when her simplest desire was to perform her best that nite in front of a 'large audience',
she had in fact , managed to bring down the haughtiness and mightiness in so many of them present that nite... and now worldwide via the tube, are humbled by her performance that nite...

i guess, the tears easily flowed the minute she raised her voice... those mocking her earlier were very quickly brought back down to earth... :)
something so pure and simple... (great choice of song nontheless...)
it's like... yea~ Great Things Do Happen...

watch it.. the download time totally worths it...
if not for the song, then at least for the lesson behind...

sudden drive on a friday morning..

Friday morning, driving to work seven-ish… approaching the weekends. Yes, yet another long awaited weekend…
stuck in the jam, I envisioned all the things that I would do come this weekend… no more wasting of precious time and freedom that comes with the weekend.
I would have a nice Friday night drink to cap the work week…
come Saturday I would wake early to give the car a good wash (by the anehs of course), fill in some overdue wind into all 4 tires… reload the touch n go, then maybe go for a hair cut.
then perhaps, spend the afternoon at the malls with sis and yang… just to walk around the rainforest, whiling time away watching the huge school of fish swimming by…
then at night, a quiet night at home… getting to work washing the floors… something which I had planned to do once every week, but had by now spiraled to way past 2 weeks (tsk tsk). then quietly sit at my work desk, and start on that pile of shits from the office… yes, loathsome as they may be, still, I try to do my best… at most of the given time… =)
Sunday… didn’t really think of any plans for Sunday. after all, Sundays are best spent sitting at home with the Sunday papers and my mug of Nescafe… then perhaps catching up on some CSI marathons… (heard Grissom’s leaving CSI… should be interesting).

and yet… it is now exactly Sunday. Night to be precise.
fact is, things don’t always work out as how you would “envision” them to be… :)

Friday night was spent at home. my kakis were tad too biji for drinks…
waking up ’early’ on Saturday did not materialize… so did (not) washing the car and the fillin’ the tires… had dated sis and yang earlier on for the trip to the malls… but after some waiting, all the ’drive’ just drove away I think… I sent her an sms cancelling our date. “are you sure? We’ll take a bath and then come straight over worr…”
“mai jor… next time lah…”
so that was Saturday… what did materialize was, loads and loads of snooze time. Again.
so I read from the papers that to keep a balanced and healthy internal clock within us, we are supposed to wake up at the same time throughout the week… yup, all 7 days of it. Hmm… pretty true… maybe i’ll try that come next weekend…

but all is not lost… Sunday came and jamie sent me a text very early in the morning…
Yes. at least, there’ll be some very minor exercise for the weekend… swimming @ KenD.
which of course, was followed by lunch… Vietnamese beef noodles were favored today, so we headed to 1U…
No, the walk around the fish tanks did not happen… we didn’t make it down that far… only around High Street.
what did happen was a stop at U.R.S. Inc.. and I am 80bucks poorer now…
reaching home in the late afternoon, I did manage to get my haircut though… now that’s a feat considering how I had delayed this for so many evenings. cant help it that tauke-soh is always so full of customers too…
Uh-huh, the floors still need their scrubbing, but I think I’ll k.i.v. that to tomorrow…
The Car still need tending, I will have to k.i.v. that to tomorrow.
right now, I shall attempt to work on the bag of shits from the office…
trying to get a head start to the workweek…
Darn I hate that word…

and hey hey, waddayaknoe... it's raining again... =)

like a fever you can't sweat out..

1
i promised myself that i would make a note of this... whenever this strikes... kinda just for records i think...
woke up at 7:01... found that it was raining soft rain... soft, but steady rainn.. somehow, it seemed just too~ serene and unworldly... for something so mortal like Work to break it undone.
Shit~
yup... there goes again, another fever ... that you cant sweat out. i guess that's how im gonna address this madness from now on...
coolly walked to the loo and back to the room... after some sms-es, it was snooze time again.
Unacceptable ... i know.
but then again... what the heck~!!!

if a reason (or excuse wuteva..) will make this all sound more sane... then yea~.. there was a meeting scheduled at 8:00am... with some big fellers of the co., and since it was already raining steady rain so early in the morning ...

a jam wuld surely be in place... hence, a scenario like this would be so ungodly...
there... happy??...
at least i am today... =P

4 to 6

for a very long time, there were only 4.
there was always, only the four.
growing up, my actual formative years in the nineties, we had always only knew that there were four.
and for a very long time, the thought of a fifth never really came through.
it was as though, it will always be the 4th. i mean, fact is.. it had always been the 4th since ‘81.
the 4th was the only one where we ever knew of in fact.. in the flesh and all. the rest of the 3 were really more to like figures in our history syllabus. like, what 5th? the 4th would always be around rite?

then ‘03 came… finally, it was time for the 5th.
it didn’t really registered much at that time… but soon, ppl started making comments and everyone suddenly became expert politic reviewers. at one point of time, it was like.. Every common man on the streets had something to say…
you could say it was like a very uneasy period of transition. after all, it was after more than 20 years of the previous administration. what would you expect??
and now, finally today i read the newspapers… yes, after all the recent hoo~haa, i finally sat down to read the Saturday papers… and yup, the 6th is in.
looking back, it was like just yesterday that the 5th had stepped in.
never given much thoughts to the 5th, coz seriously, 5 years+ really does seem to pale in comparison … =S

anyhow, so now the tagline is 1Malaysia.. People first, Performance now.
(sounds eerily similar to my fav morning coffee brand’s slogan too~)
and the 6th’s public address to the ‘young nation’… very well written, but very well said?? Opinions vary…
